Hello from chilly Wisconsin!
One of my favorite books in the store right now is Piecing the Past by Lynne Hagemeier. Lynne takes you on tour of her Kansas Troubles Quilters studio in Bennington, Kansas, sharing unique displays of vintage quilts used to decorate the rooms for quilter retreats. The book also provides clear, easy steps to recreate 11 pieced quilts along with pillows, pincushions, and a very sweet doll quilt.
One of the quilts that we have made kits for at the store is a beauty called Homestead. This quilt couldn’t be easier to make. The kit provides the fabric to make the simple 4 patches that are sewn together to make this 63″ x 86″quilt. I think you’ll really enjoy this beautiful quilt. There’s enough color here to add interest to any room, but the neutrals ground it so well that it is very versatile. You will need the book Piecing the Past for the pattern, so be sure to pick up both!
Check back soon for more new kits and patterns! Also, as a reminder, if you’d like to receive the JJ Stitches Newsletter and receive updates on what’s new at JJ Stitches delivered straight to your inbox, you can sign up on the home page.
Until next time,
Julie
